When I design, I envision each piece as a functional part of a woman’s wardrobe, regardless of which island (or continent) she lives on – okay, maybe there are some exceptions (sorry Antarctica!). Recently, some of our Hawaii made designs proved to be quite cosmopolitan on the streets of NYC!
Malie Moran, Media and Events Director of Hawaii Red Magazine, decided to partake in this year’s New York Fashion Week. Malie is a big supporter of local fashion and insisted on being dressed in local designer’s wares during fashion’s most important week of the year. Well, you can image that I was super flattered that my designs were in her suitcase! Maile sent me some pictures yesterday and it appears that these Made in Hawaii designs transitioned nicely for her stylish off island adventure.
PS: Do you love her urban styling as much as I do???
What is it about grey lately? When I dressed Hawaii Red Magazine for New York Fashion week, the grey strapless dress was a must. When Malie tried it on for size, she rattled off all sorts of accessorizing options. I was inspired… so, last week I wore my grey strapless dress with a bright yellow cardigan. The outfit worked nicely at the office and at the bridal industry party that I went to straight after work. Later in the week a tweet on my timeline caught my attention – “@hparker grey is underrated. i think i should just start wearing all grey more often”. Then, today my friend and colleague showed up to work wearing my UMEE Honolulu grey strapless dress styled in her own way… neutral blazer, animal skin kitten heels, and silver belt! All this grey action is making me happy!
Our new website debuted on August 28, just a few hours before our website launch party at the Ice Bar in the Honolulu Design Center. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out for the party! We had a lot of fun and hope you did to!
To memorialize the event, Joe of WE Media Services pulled together lots of video footage and compiled this really great clip. Enjoy!
Mahalo again from the bottom of my heart…
PS: Have you had a chance to visit our new website? Please take a look and let me know what you think! I would love to hear from you!
I was thrilled to have Joe of WE Media Services as the videographer for our website launch party. We will soon be posting some footage from the event, but this time lapse of the entire party Joe captured was so cool that I wanted to share it with you. Thank you Joe!!! www.wemediaservices.com
