More Than a Beach Cover Up

I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving Day and is able to reflect on the laundry list of people and things to be thankful for.  My Thanksgiving Day style is about keeping things simple and stylish.  Once again, I’m dressing up the UMEE resort shorts.  Matching garment colors to accessory colors is something I’m a fan of.  Here I’ve matched the tan in my sweater to the tan in my Burberry purse.  I threw in my favorite Fendi sunglasses and some gold sandals I picked up on a trip to India.  I’m so thankful that these UMEE resort shorts offer more styling options than just serving as a classic beach cover-up.  :)  Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Fall Style

For a relaxed Fall style, look no further than the versatile UMEE Island Dress.  Pairing this dress with a classic denim jacket relaxes the formality of this strapless.  Leather bag and shoes in a variety of leather-y shades, are a perfect compliment to the colors in the subtle tropical print.  If you want to add a pop of color, try adding colored bangles or do your nails in a bright shade!

Hifi has a Home

The Hawaii Fashion Incubator (Hifi), a non profit organization with a mission to develop and sustain a fashion incubator in Hawaii, recently secured a physical space in Ward Warehouse.  Hifi CoFounders, Melissa White and Toby Portner, asked me to produce a promotional video to rally more support for Hifi upon accomplishing this major milestone.  During their open house, I swung by to take some footage for the video.  The space needs a lot of work, but I was happy to see their energy and the design team’s inspirations.  Please check out the video to learn more about Hifi…

Maintain Your Cool

UMEE’s white resort shorts are obviously a great beach cover-up and easy to wear with tees and flip flops (aka ‘slippers’).  Lately I’ve been dressing up these comfy drawstring shorts but still keeping things relaxed.  My latest style was to add stripes and dots.  This JCrew striped tank paired with the ‘dots’ of my pearl strand where a perfect combo of relaxed and refined.  I had some cute polka dot wedges in my closet I picked up years ago in Washington DC to continue with the ‘dots’ theme.  A brightly colored clutch gave me a nice pop of color to complete the look.  The UMEE resort shorts ($39) are a great foundation to let you comfortably dress up your style while still maintaining your cool.
